North Harbour, Placentia Bay
North Harbour is named simply for it's location at the northern end (apex) of the Bay. The current population is approximately 200. With a small cod and shellfish industry still in operation, local facilities such as the govrnment wharf and nearby slipway have seen some recent improvements. The majority of workers however, are involved in construction, mainly related to residential construction or the oil industry.
The location of the community makes it highly prone to long periods of foggy weather, but when things clear up, the scenic beauty is well worth the wait.
