Comments: Thanks to everyone to helped in any way to make the Veterans Memorial dedication/unveiling Ceremony a success. Perfect weather and great attendance (100+) - great to see new and old visitors. Looking forward to next Labour Day weekend for more of the same. Hope to see everyone at the fundraising dance on November 5th.

Comments: Hi, I put a number of videos on youtube that consist of CBC footage from the 1980 reunion, it consists of about 20 minutes of raw footage CBC took and I don't think used, plus a news report they did. I also put up a Land and Sea episode about Merasheen from the same time period. Just search Merasheen Reunion on youtube and you should find it. I've linked all the videos on the Merasheen facebook page as well. Enjoy!

Comments: Tentative date for ceremony for new war memorial/monument in Merasheen is Sat. pm, Sept 3. Details to follow later,but keep the date in mind-hoping for a large turnout, even if you can only get out for that day, to help celebrate, remember & honour war veterans from Merasheen. Who knew there would be so many!!
I'd like to do up a little booklet with a few lines about each of the veterans. It would include their dates of birth/death, son/dau.of xxxx, married to xxxxx, how old they were when they served, where they served, their duties, etc. & other pertinent information. A picture would be appreciated too. Hoping to get enough booklets printed sfor everyone who attends.
So if any of you have anyone listed on the monument and would like to have a write up included, could you send me this information asap.
pls send this along to anyone you know that might be able to provide any information, as I don't have an e-mail address for all involved. Thanks, Marge

I will be on Merasheen Island with my family including my brothers Ray(gail), Pat, Aunt Julie, Aunt Violet and others I hope for all of August( they will be there in July). I look forward to seeeing one and all and engaing in matters of the heart related to the legacy of love of our forfathers and mothers.
We are so blessed to hail from a place called home, an island that defined our character and commitment to service and place.
